Travel Log
Although I do consider travel a hobby of mine, I actually don't like to do it that often. The actual travelling part is often unpleasant so I usually have to be drawn in by something else (an event or special attraction) to really want to go somewhere. Here's everywhere I've gone as a "tourist" and what drew me there.
- Bruges Honestly? I watched In Bruges. 🤦🏻♀️
- Brussels it was a base between Bruges and Leuven.
- Leuven revisit somewhere my husband had spent some time during his PhD.
- Plovdiv Devin Townsend concert.
- Sofia had to transit through Sofia for Plovdiv, so it made sense to stay a few days there too!
- London visiting relatives.
- Manchester Sumo Cyco concert.
- "Paris" Disneyland... so it was technically more like the US we went to, but yanno. 😂
- Berlin a friend's wedding.
- Cologne Devilskin concert.
- Düsseldorf to visit friends & Devilskin concert.
- Gelderland
- Arnhem sightseeing with a relative.
- Nijmegen sightseeing with a relative.
- Otterlo to visit the Hoge Veluwe national park.
- Limburg
- Maastricht "on the way" between our trip between Germany and Belgium.
- North Brabant
- Eindhoven explored a little bit of the city when we went to a skate shop.
- Heusden a friend showed me around because it’s an interesting old Dutch town.
- Tilburg concerts, lots of concerts.
- Waspik I went to visit a friend, but she literally gave me a tour of the town, so it absolutely counts!
- North Holland
- Amsterdam because it's just what you do when you're in the Netherlands, really...
- Zandaam we didn't want to pay Amsterdam prices for accommodation. 😂
- South Holland
- Leiden checked it out after visiting Keukenhof.
- Utrecht
- Amersfoort was meant to meet a relative, but ended up doing a walking tour.
- Utrecht just a fun day out in another city.
- Northland
- Ahipara to visit family friends.
- Paihia family holiday, school trip.
- Whangārei when I didn't live there, I visited family often.
- Whangaruru regular holiday spot as a kid.
- Auckland
- Auckland family holidays.
- Waikato
- Coromandel Peninsula family holiday, husband's family bach.
- Hamilton when I didn't live there, I visited family often.
- Bay of Plenty
- Rotorua visit family, general tourism.
- Taupō family holiday.
- Tauranga visit family friends.
- Whakatāne visit family friends.
- Manawatū-Whanganui
- Whanganui Dad's speedboat hobby took us here annually.
